I know you're a fan of using play therapy to help your child and adolescent clients heal.

But have you ever asked yourself these questions?

👉 What makes play therapy different from other expressive art modalities?
👉 How is play therapeutic?
👉 Why play therapy is different from just pulling out games and art supplies in your sessions?
👉 How does play therapy really help your clients heal?

And have you ever looked across the room to see the face of your clients’ parents as you struggle to explain what play therapy is and how it’s going to help their children only to see a confused look on their faces?

You’ve felt the tightness in your chest or stomach as you frantically race through your mind to think of all the different ways you can try to convince parents that you know what you’re talking about and why play therapy will help their children.

After all, if you’re going to invest the time and money to learn play therapy it’s probably a good idea to understand what makes it the treatment of choice for children, and even adolescents.

Imagine if you could...

🎯 Be an exceptional play therapist who uses the therapeutic powers of play to heal your child and adolescent clients.

🎯 Explain play therapy to parents/guardians so you can get their support for play therapy to help their children heal.

🎯 Have a thorough understanding of what sets play therapy apart from other expressive art modalities.

🎯 Provide super competent and ethical services to your child and adolescent clients

If any of this sounds like a dream, I want you to know that it's 100% possible for you.
And I know that because I've been exactly where you are now and have learned without a doubt that play therapy is the most effective way to help children heal.

Having a solid foundational understanding about what sets play therapy apart from other expressive arts modalities requires an understanding of its “roots” and the components and competencies of play therapy.

This foundation in play therapy will ensure you understand the ethics of play therapy so you have a solid understanding of what is play therapy and how to use if effectively with your child and adolescent clients.

Not sure you can do this?

I've got a story for you

As a child and adolescent therapist for thirty years, I still remember when I finally found training and support to learn play therapy about twenty years ago.

You see, I was introduced to play therapy when I was a special education teacher for elementary aged children with emotional problems in the 1980s.  It was during my introduction to play therapy by our school psychologist that I realized I wanted to help children heal using this powerful modality.

After graduating with a master’s degree in social work specializing in working with children and families, it took another decade to find the training and support I needed to feel confident using play therapy. This was before the internet when you could find anything quickly.

I still remember what it felt like to muddle along trying to figure out how to use play therapy with my young clients. I remember feeling overwhelmed, confused, anxious, and lost because I didn’t have a solid foundation using play therapy nor an understanding of how play therapy actually worked. I often felt like a fraud. It was awful. Getting a solid foundation in play therapy was a game changer for me.

And now, with my thirty years’ experience in child/adolescent mental health and years of special education experience prior to that, I’m even more convinced that play therapy is the most effective way to help children heal.

Because I’m such a firm believer in play therapy
, I love helping the next generation of play therapists learn how to confidently, effectively, and ethically use play therapy to help your young clients heal.

You are the future of play therapy. You are the next generation of play therapists who will help children and adolescents heal.

My goal in this course is to provide you with a solid foundation in play therapy to ensure you have the tools you need to feel confident using it.  You know what they say about a strong foundation, right?  A strong foundation allows you to build a solid structure.  Poor foundation – poor structure and low-quality services.  Strong foundation – strong structure and high-quality services.

So, are you in?

If you're ready to go from being clueless to being prepared, this course will get you there quickly and easily

Latasha S.

"Cathi gave pointers on how to explain play therapy like an expert."

Christy D.

"This course is very helpful for the beginning of play therapy and having a strong foundation."

Julie B.
Marriage and Family Therapist

"Cathi's experience and confidence in the model she developed plus her grounding energy helped in learning a whole new model. She brought it to life, including making comments during the first part explaining that Science is why you emphasize certain things with parents."

Cooper S.
Marriage and Family Play Therapist

“It was great! I love getting a more thorough framework to be able to better structure my sessions. Cathi knows SO much about neurobiology, sometimes I get lost during that part, but it is also so informative and important to know the underlying process of everything. A takeaway for me that was really important was the clinical decision making piece that I need to let parents know what to expect and what is expected of them and be very purposeful in how and when I do or don't use them.”
